God is on the move

Congratulations and welcome to the family. I look forward to having you see what God does in and through you as you witness the people around you learning to love God more and more each day. Eugene Peterson described the pastoral call as one of birdwatching. We are to look for evidence that God is on the move. I am reminded of the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe. The beavers notice the fall of the white white which was loosing power. this is a metaphor with Satan crashing down like a bolt of lightening in luke 10:18. My pastor said satan's such a looser that God in order to mock satan, creates a baby, a picture of weakness, and owns him. Romans 16:19 says, be excellent in what is good, be innocent of evil. And God will soon crush Satan underneath your feet. This means we get to just not have only a front row seat when God kicks Satan's rear, we are participants in it. Satan is afraid of you and what you will accomplish. Keep Satan po. If Satan viewed you as not a threat he would not work so hard on tempting you. I am confident as Paul is that God who begins a good work in you will finish it. God created you, he called man  to himself and gave him his holy spirit until the work on earth is done. What is the holy spirit, a sprit comes from the word breath. The holy spirit means that the breath is pure of misdeed or anything other than love. Because of me having love, we can do the love test. What actions are Godly can be discerned by whether they are done in love. Therefore when I do not think nicely of someone, it is not an action of love encouraging the person to grow. We need to see the potential in others. we see life as though from s foggy mirror but soon we will see ourselves as clearly as Christ sees us. This mean as that although we are imperfect and raise ourselves in a manmade expression of religion it can be weak. However the only part of that expression is done in love. That alone is the wife of Christ which cannot be disrespected. When I was in high school I heard someone make fun of another faith and then another person said that is Cameron who you are talking about. The room got quiet in respect. I hope that because of the way I live my life, my name could be used when Christianity is made fun of Christianity.

When the world asks "what child is this?" you know the answer. One day soon every knee will bow before the Godhead.

I've been focusing more on dealing with some spiritual doubts and reading some books like bonhoeffer pastor, spy, mayter by eric metaxis. I have been dealing with some of the big questions of life in terms of what is going on. Next i plan to read surprised by joy cs lewis. I know you might consider yourself as not catholic but i went to catholic school, there we were all about emulation of people deemed worthy encourporating behaviors that are healthy. We can compare this to asking famous successful athletes and adapting their workout plan or playes in the field. I think this is healthy. The best catholic sermon i heard was comparing a life to a house. If you were to die would there be evidence that you are a christian. A paraphrase of a faith without works is dead is that if being a christian is a crime is there enough evidence to convict you. Faith is a gift but it also takes experiences that are out of our control to chisel away at our hearts. I hope that God can use what i am going to take me in the next steps of making me bear the fruits of the spirit in faith and love.
